smarter landuse.

Groundstock is an independent land management company offering expert assessment and strategies for sustainable, efficient land use, underpinned by robust and objective evaluation of your land resources using the Land Use Capability (LUC) system. We provide services that enable land owners to understand the strengths and weaknesses of their land resources and technical advice on how to utilise their land efficiently and responsibly, all with the mission of helping create a resilient, efficient and responsible farming economy in New Zealand.

We are based in Whanganui but service the North and South Islands. Our flexible land management team thrives on getting around NZ, experiencing the diverse agricultural landscapes and meeting some great characters along the way.

Rebecca Algie

Land Management Officer

Growing up as a country kid in north Wairarapa, Rebecca’s appreciation for farming began with a strong interest in the land and the environment. She gained a Certificate in Agriculture from Charles Darwin University in the Northern Territory, then returned home to complete a Bachelor of Agricultural Science at Massey University. During her time throughout her tertiary education and past employment she became aware of how important it is for farmers to have a good understanding of their land resources to be able to make sustainable management decisions.

Rebecca joined the Groundstock team, injecting her skills in GIS, LUC mapping, farm environmental planning, the New Zealand Emissions Trading Scheme, and has a good understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and mātauranga Māori. She has a passion for holistically supporting farmers to maximise profitability while minimising their environmental impact.
