The New Zealand Emissions Trading Scheme (NZETS) is a government tool that promotes a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions to help mitigate climate change. It incentivises land owners to establish and protect forestlands that have extensive carbon sequestration abilities.
Entering the NZETS to register forestland can feel daunting to some people and it can easily be placed in the too-hard basket. We support land owners in the application process of becoming participants in the NZETS, assessing and registering their forestlands on behalf and we also provide advice and recommendations for land owners who are interested in business diversification.
